Dominica

Welcome to Dominica, “the Nature Island of the Caribbean”

Dominica is the place to be when you want to experience nature at its best. An island festooned with waterfalls, dense tropical rainforests, sulphur springs and underwater treasures; here, you will find peace, tranquility and untamed beauty. With newly created nature trails, Dominica gives you unique chance of uncompared hiking and adventure experience.

Often referred to as “The Nature Island” and located between the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Eastern Caribbean archipelago, the independent nation of Dominica (pronounced “Dom-in-eek-a”) is the largest and most mountainous of the Windward Islands, encompassing an area of nearly 290 square miles, with a population of approximately 69, 000.

Dominica is well endowed with natural resources and has some of the most spectacular rivers, waterfalls and gorges in the Eastern Caribbean. At least 60% of this nature paradise is still covered by lush Tropical Oceanic Rainforest and other verdant vegetation. Dominica boasts three National Parks, including the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Eastern Caribbean. Its volcanic peaks are cones of lava craters and include Boiling Lake, the second-largest, thermally active lake in the world.
