4 Ways to See Dominica by Sea

You can’t think of Dominica without crystal clear, teal blue water coming to mind. Vibrant coral, majestic sea turtles, and an endless array of colorful fish are just below the surface. At Fort Young Hotel, we celebrate the beautiful sea around us—and you can too with a variety of water excursions.

1. Diving

Right outside of your room at Fort Young Hotel lies access to Dominica’s best diving sites. Accompanied by our local dive team, you’ll experience the Dominican sea with the best divers by your side. Explore unspoiled reefs, swim amongst schools of vibrant fish, and observe the wild marine life of the Nature Island using only the best equipment. And, of course, you can relax after a long day of diving by lounging on our infinity pool sundeck terrace while indulging in world-class cuisine.

2. Cruise

Cruise lines run through Dominica and stop just beyond our resort in Roseau. For those docking for the day, stop by Fort Young and have a day of leisure, sipping cocktails and enjoying the views from the infinity pool. Immerse yourself in the culture of Dominica with a quick trip to the Farmer’s Market that’s located just beyond the docks. No matter how you choose to spend your time in Roseau, the sea will always be your beautiful backdrop.

Snorkeling

3. Snorkel

One of the most amazing perks of Fort Young is its location. Our prime seafront property is exclusive to our guests and visitors, creating a peaceful place for you to experience what awaits within the azure waters. Dive right off of our dock and start exploring or hop on a boat and venture out to Champagne Reef or Split Rock for an even more secluded snorkel. The team at Fort Young will assist you in finding the right snorkel gear and guide you through our most unforgettable snorkelling sites.

4. Whale Watching

Whales are are some of Fort Young Hotel’s most famous guests. Dominica serves as host to two-thirds of all whale species and has year-round sightings of Sperm Whales. From November through March, you’re bound to see a head or tale pop up above the surface during your stay. And, if you look out at just the right moment, you might be able to spot a spout from your balcony at Fort Young. Book a trip with Dive Dominica for a whale watching experience unlike any other.
