Dominica’s Most Instagrammed Sites

Welcome to The Nature Island—home to some of the most remarkable geography and wildlife in the world, inspiring thousands of photo shares on social media every year. From the tops of the trees to the tropical reefs, these are among the most Instagram-worthy sites across the island.

1. Middleham Falls

When in Dominica, do go chasing waterfalls. Middleham Falls is reachable via a moderate hike (an hour or so) along a trail, surrounded by natural beauty. Admire the island’s highest waterfall, which cascades from 150 feet high. We recommend booking a guided tour to get the full experience.

2. Under the Sea

One of the most incredible sights in Dominica can be viewed under sea level. Every winter, the area experiences a migration of sperm whales. If you’re there at the right time and feeling adventurous, you may be able to go swim with these gentle giants.

3. Boiling Lake

Unlike the hot springs you may have soaked in, this lake is to be enjoyed from a distance only. With temperatures reaching nearly 200 degrees Fahrenheit on the edges, there’s no telling just how hot the center of this lake actually is, but it’s actually boiling! The trail to get there is muddy and about 8 miles long, so plan on making this an all-day, down-and-dirty adventure.

4. Emerald Pool

Aptly named for the gorgeous jewel tones adorning the water and lush greenery around it, Emerald Pool is one of the most visited attractions of the island. You’ll follow a short trail to get to the pool, but it’s well worth the hike.

5. The Coastline of Roseau

Not all the splendor of Dominica is natural; some of its most Instagrammable spots are man-made. The colorful buildings along Roseau’s coastline—especially when framed against a tropical sunset—make for a gorgeous vacation photo.
