Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort Gears Up For Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival

Every October, Dominica comes to life during Creole Heritage Month, culminating in the highly anticipated, three-day World Creole Music Festival (WCMF). This year, Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort is thrilled to be the Official Accommodation Partner for the festival, offering artists and press a convenient and relaxing getaway in downtown Roseau — a mere 10-minute walk and 5-minute drive from Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

Taking place this year from October 27-29, 2023, WCMF invites locals and visitors alike to celebrate the island’s vibrant Creole culture through music, food, and community. Read on to learn more about what makes this festival so extraordinary and join us in gearing up for a weekend to remember.

A Joyful Celebration of Creole Traditions

The World Creole Music Festival beautifully showcases Dominica’s unique Creole heritage. For three days, the island pulsates with the sounds of local music, from bouyon to cadence-lypso, as well as diverse Caribbean genres like reggae, zouk, and soca. Talented musicians from Dominica and abroad enliven the stage with their soulful performances. Beyond the concerts, WCMF offers opportunities to connect with locals, savor Creole cuisine, and gain a deeper appreciation for this one-of-a-kind culture.

World-Renowned Artists Take the Stage

WCMF consistently attracts renowned headliners and up-and-coming artists. This year’s lineup promises to impress with acts like reggae sensation Popcaan, the Godfather of Lovers Rock Beres Hammond, Soca King Machel Montano, and Dominica’s own, the Bouyon Boss Asa Banton. Festival-goers can look forward to three nights of captivating music against the scenic backdrop of Dominica’s shores.
