How to Become a Certified Diver at Fort Young Hotel

Whether you wish to become a certified diver or extend your education, Fort Young Dive’s professional dive instructors have the perfect course for you. Dominica’s marine environment—with little to no current, great visibility and shallow reef drop-offs—makes the island an ideal place for any level of student to learn or improve their diving skills. Below, take a peek at our course options with Fort Young Dive and get ready to witness the eye-opening wonder of down under in Dominica.

Full Open Water and Junior Open Water Diver Certification Course

Some people prefer the continuity of starting and ending their course in one place with one instructor. If this appeals to you, you have the option to take the entire course once on island. With this option, you will complete your academics during lectures with our instructor and through independent reading. Allow 3 – 4 days for this course.

– Minimal swimming skills necessary.
– Minimum (24 hour) 1 day advance booking at Fort Young Dive
– All course materials included
– 3-4 day course includes all instruction with a PADI Instructor
– 5 confined water dives, 4 open water dives
– Certification fee included

Open Water E-Learning Completion

The Open Water Diver course/Junior Open Water Diver course is the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world. It provides you with an understanding of the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and underwater techniques.

– 2-3 days includes all instruction with a PADI Instructor
– Minimal swimming skills necessary.
– Minimum (24 hour) 1 day advance booking at Fort Young Dive
– 5 confined water dives, 4 open water dives
– Certification fee excluded for academics completed at home or online
– $362.25 USD

Discover Scuba Options

If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, our Discover Scuba Diving courses are for you. PADI dive shops offer this program either in a pool, off a beach or from a dive boat. While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.

– One tank Shore dive includes gear: $90.85 USD
– Two tank Shore dive includes gear: $96.60 USD
– Two tank boat dive includes gear: $205.85 USD
