Shore Diving Project
The Shore Diving project at the shoreline of Fort Young Hotel was created to protect and grow coral, creating a more interesting shore dive environment for our divers and guests. Raising awareness of coral reefs and their importance in our ocean environment is key to protection and growth. We believe the best way to educate is through experiences, which is why our guests have the chance to dive deep and learn first hand the importance of coral reefs in our ecosystem. Guests can learn how underwater structures such as canon and an oil-drained engine enhance marine life, and how to continue supporting reefs even after they leave Fort Young Hotel.

Our Research
In June of 2020, Fort Young Hotel requested a study by Arun Madisetti to review marine preservation surrounding Fort Young Hotel. The study area, a total of 10,786 square meters, was bounded to the northwest by the Roseau cruise ship pier, to the northeast by the shoreline of the Fort Young Hotel property, and to the southwest and southeast by 15 meter exclusion zones inshore of the cruise ship pilings. The study revealed continued marine growth in areas protected by the Shore Project.
